I can’t believe we’re already at another weekend. Time sure does fly by. Well, this past weekend was another busy one for me. Once again, I was able to do some work and some play. I spent time with family and friends, laughed a lot, and did a little work too. It was very entertaining to say the least. I like doing this segment on my blog because it allows me to show you that smiling and having fun is just as important as working hard. I do my best to have a good mix of both. Lets get out there and enjoy life people!
1. “All Eyes on Me” Movie Outing
So Friday the “Tupac Movie” finally came out. My sister and I went to Applebee’s for appetizers and drinks and then we headed to the theater. I don’t really get to hang out with my sis as much as I used to so this was a treat. We laughed and reminisced the entire time. I have mixed opinions about the movie, “All Eyez on Me”, but I will say that it was nice reliving those moments in history and learning a few things about Tupac that I didn’t know. I would still suggest that you check it out just because it’s Pac.
2. Volunteer for Lift Up Atlanta Summer Fun Festival
I’m always trying to spend more time volunteering and helping those in need. So Saturday morning, I got up early to volunteer for the Lift Up Atlanta Annual Summer Fun Festival. Lift Up Atlanta is non profit organization that is committed to helping the homeless and feeding the hungry in the metro Atlanta area by providing everything from basic needs to computer training/job skills.
The Summer Fun Festival is an annual event held by Lift Up Atlanta to raise donations and school supplies for needy children. I always feel great knowing that I’m doing the work to help others. I really hope that they children received everything that they needed from this event. I will also be donated supplies for back to school as well. If you’re interested in helping Lift Up Atlanta, check out their website hyperlinked all throughout this paragraph!
3. Networking with Black Bloggers United
Next I attended the monthly Power Hour event with Black Bloggers United. There was so much good information exchanged between myself and the other bloggers. I love networking with like-minded individuals because they always teach you some new things and they inspire you to do more. We were able to express our frustrations with blogging as well as our love for blogging. I left feeling very inspired and motivated! If you’re a blogger looking to connect with other bloggers, check out the Black Bloggers United website!
4. Paparazzi Jewelry Party
Okay so next, I left my networking event and headed to my best friend’s Paparazzi jewelry party. She had so many great pieces; it was hard to choose which ones to get. But nonetheless, I settled on a nice matching set which I will feature on my blog later. I hadn’t seen my BFF in a while so after the party, we opened up a bottle of wine and did some catching up! It’s so nice spending time with my girlfriends! They make life a little easier.
5. Photoshoot for my Blog
Sunday, it was time to shoot a few photos for my blog. I shot these in downtown Duluth, GA. Because I waited until later in the day to shoot, it was hard to find good lighting outside. I made it work though. This is one of my favorite pictures!
Even though we’re at another weekend, I still wanted to share this with you. I hope you have had a wonderful week and I hope you have an even better weekend!
Speak to you soon!
