October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, this year, more than 252,700 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in the U.S. A lot, of these cases will involve women who are unable to afford the cost of mammograms as well as the cost of diagnostic services and treatment. So it is our job to make sure that we support each other and ensure that every woman has the opportunity to get the care that they deserve during these trying times.
One way that we can do that is by shopping. Yes, I said it, SHOPPING! Y’all already know that I love to shop. But, what I love even more than shopping is, that some of the stores that I purchase from are also giving back. So, what I wanted to give you today is seven clothing stores that are already amazing. They’re even more amazing because they are donating to the Breast Cancer Awareness cause. Take a look at the list below.
Avon
Avon has been a huge contributor to breast cancer awareness for 25 years. They’re still going strong with foundations like the Avon Breast Cancer Crucade, the Avon Walk Around the World for Breast Cancer, and the Avon Foundation for Women. Avon will donate 20% of their net profits from breast cancer fundraising products-up to $1 million in 2017 – to the Avon Foundation for Women to support Avon Breast Cancer Crusade programs across the U.S.
Loft
Loft creates a limited-edition jewelry collection that promotes balance, spiritual-lifting, and peace. 60% of the purchase price will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation®. They also allows customers to purchase a $25 or more gift card. Customers will receive 20% to 25% off of their purchase of $100 or more when they use the gift card. 90% of the card’s purchase price will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.
Fabletics
Fabletics has teamed up with CFDA’s Fashion Targets Breast Cancer initiative. The brand designed an exclusive collection for the initiative that will donate 20% of customer purchases to the cause.
Forever 21
Forever 21 continues to work with Keep A Breast Foundation during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The brand has a lovely Breast Cancer Awareness collection. For every item purchased from the collection, Forever 21 will donate one dollar.
Missoni
According to Vogue.com, for the entire month of October, a special $35 T-shirt Angela Missoni designed for Saks Fifth Avenue’s Key to the Cure Charity will be available in all Saks locations in the U.S. and Canada, as well as online at SaksFifthAvenue.com, with 100 percent of proceeds going to 12 local cancer charities, among them American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and TGen Foundation.
Ralph Lauren
Ralph Lauren’s Pink Pony campaign supports programs for cancer screening, treatment, research, and patient navigation. After Ralph Lauren’s friend, Nina Hyde, was diagnosed with breast cancer, he made a commitment to focus his philanthropic efforts on improving care for this devastating disease. Twenty-five percent of the purchase of The Pink Pony Collection of apparel and accessories is directed to an international network of charities.
Amazon Smile
According to Amazon.com, AmazonSmile lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices, and convenient shopping features as on Amazon.com. The difference is that when customers shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to the charitable organizations selected by customers.
Wow! So many great organizations that we all love are doing their part by contributing to the wellness of women everywhere. That’s amazing, isn’t it. Please keep these stores in mind while you’re out shopping during this month. Let’s do our part to give back in every way that we can!
