10 Essentials To Elevate Your 2018 Looks

I know that I shouldn’t even be mentioning 2017 anymore since we’ve started a new year.  But, after checking out some of my posts from last year, I realized that there were certain pieces of which I could not get enough. Because I shop way too much, my closet is full of clothes, shoes, and bags.  However, if I’m being honest, I usually reach for the same pieces in my closet over and over again.  They’re my faves!!!  And for the most part, none of these pieces were expensive purchases.  I decided to do this post as a guide to closet essentials that I purchased in 2017 that didn’t break the bank.  Hopefully, this will give you some ideas of what to add to your closet in 2018 to up your style game!!!

Black Block Heel Sandals – Target

The black single heel sandal is a classic.   And as you can see, it can be dressed up or down.  I lived in these sandals this year; especially during the summer.  They were only $29.99 when I purchased them, but they’re now on clearance for $25.48!!!

Plaid Boyfriend Blazer – Target

Another classic piece that I will be wearing year after year (if possible)!  This blazer is perfect for the office and easy to style with a pair of jeans.  And the quality is amazing!  It’s also on clearance at Target right now!

Black Handbag – H&M

I discovered this bag on Youtube while watching one of my favorite bloggers do a clothing haul.  I knew I had to have it!  She was right when she said that the structure is so nice and mature.  It’s very well made and It’s currently $29.99!  It’s SOLD OUT online, but I’ve seen plenty more of these in the H&M store!

Black Jersey Turtleneck – H&M

The turtleneck can be both a fashion statement and a wardrobe hero.  And as you can see, it was both for me!!!! You can’t go wrong with a black turtleneck and a tan one as well!

Mini Satchel Bag – New York & Company

I loved this Gramercy Mini Satchel bag so much that I bought it in three colors (I also have it in navy blue)!  It’s the perfect little accessory to complement a bold look; big enough to fit all of my essentials, but small enough to carry and not be a burden.

Girlfriend Denim Jeans – Banana Republic

Y’all know I love my skinny jeans for sure.  But, it’s nice to have a pair that fit a little looser.  The fit of these jeans is perfection.  And not only do they fit good, they feel good too!

Black Skinny Jeans – H&M

Another great piece that goes so well from day to night.  I’ve worn these jeans over and over again.  They’ve managed to keep their shape despite being on repeat.  I think it’s safe to say, I won with these!

Over-The-Knee Boots – Macy’s

My tip for over-the-knee boots is to let the boots do the talking and keep the rest of your look very modest and simple.  That’s how I do it, at least.  I try to be mostly covered up when I wear these boots.  It creates a chic, sophisticated, and slightly edgy look.

Pitch Black Sunglasses – Old Navy

I discovered these sunglasses on another one of my favorite bloggers’ website Girl With Curves.  They’re the perfect dupe for the Celine Audrey sunglasses, only I paid less the $2.00 for them!  They’re currently $10.00 on the Old Navy website.  That’s still a great price!

Red Lipstick – Sephora

I have loads of red lipsticks, lipstains, liquid lipsticks, etc.  But the one that I wore the most in 2017 was the Sephora Lipstain Liquid Lipstick – Always Red.  This lipstain is the perfect bold red tone and it applies smoothly!!! There is also no need for me to reapply throughout the day because its very long lasting.

There are a lot more items that could be added to this list, but I’ll save them for another day. I hope this list was helpful for you!!! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!!!

Thank you!!! And yes I agree that the high heels boots can be a little uncomfortable sometimes. So I have a flat pair too. That’s a great suggestion for those who want to wear the over-the-knee boots without being uncomfortable! Thank you again for reading! I appreciate it!
