I think it’s safe to say that I love black. I mean, it’s the color that makes me feel the most comfortable, the sexiest, and the most stylish. If ever I have no idea what to wear to an event or any other occasion, I go with black because I know without a doubt, I’m going to look great in it.
Recently, I’ve gained a new love for another big trend: Plaid. Or check print, as some may call it. I think it stems from that blazer that I purchased from Target a few months ago. Since then, every time I see plaid pieces, whether it’s a pair of pants, a pair of shorts, or a coat, I want it.
In my opinion, plaid makes an outfit look just a little more put together and sophisticated. I’ve worn it to the office with a pair of dress pants, and also with a pair jeans! And both ways have looked equally chic.
As you can see here, I found this adorable cropped romper in that exact print. I actually purchased this romper during the summer. But, I didn’t like how the top portion of the romper fit. So I just tossed it in the back of my closet.
But, I pulled it out the other day and decided to add this black long sleeved bodysuit (my black turtleneck would have worked better though) and these black Steve Madden booties. Now, it’s more winter appropriate.

Lastly, I threw on this bag from Pocketbok Envy (Use discount code CHIC for 15% off your purchase). It was the perfect added touch to this look! So, yes my new favorite outfit combination is black and plaid.

Thank you so much!
Happy Monday, Daniesha! I’m seeing that you just came out slaying this week as usual! First of all, you know I love me some black. I can wear it all week along with red, and brown. Now, about your outfit: It’s simply flawless! I love the romper, I just bought a solid black romper from Charlotte Russe and I was surprised how much I loved it. They are just so comfortable, stylish. As for the shirt, I really love the off shoulder bodysuit you paired with it. It really gives the outfit a unique twist. I’m going to have to try it for sure. Thanks so much sharing another awesome post, hon!
