As I continue on this journey of blogging, I learn new lessons every week, and sometimes everyday.  This week the lesson that I learned is “JUST DO IT”.

Growing up, we all heard and saw this phrase on television and advertisements everywhere.  It’s Nike’s slogan. However, only recently has it occurred to me that they were telling us to really “Just do it”!  Like, don’t hesitate! Don’t quit! Don’t waist time!  Don’t let fear stop you!  Just do it!

I applied this mantra this week.  I made the decision that I will do as much as I can do to gain exposure for my blog.  So, an opportunity came to mind immediately.  One of my favorite style websites, Fashion Bomb Daily, does a daily feature of style bloggers who they feel are THE BOMB.  Readers can then rate and comment on the bloggers style (the readers can be quite mean sometimes).  This website gets hundreds of views a day and has over 50,000 followers on Instagram.  This week the feature was dedicated to only Atlanta bloggers.

Because of the exposure that I could gain, I wanted to submit my information in hopes that they would consider me.  Now, I went back and forth about my submission because I was afraid that I would get rejected.  I was also afraid of those negative comments that I would get from the readers.

So, I spoke with one of my close friends about it, and she noted that I had to do it.  There was no good reason not to, other than the fact that they would tell me no.  Heck, I hadn’t even written or submitted anything before I convinced myself that I would be rejected.  That’s no way to think.  I had to do it.

I did my write-up, chose my best photos, and emailed my submission to Fashion Bomb Daily.  Two days later, I was on their website as the “Fashion Bombshell of the Day”!!!  And I haven’t gotten any negative comments…yet.

I’m so excited y’all, and I’m super proud of myself.  I know this is a small win, and I won’t win all the time.  But, this just goes to show that you should “Just do it”. It won’t hurt to do it (well your feelings may get hurt for a second, but it won’t last).
